Born 1861 in Liverpool. Educated Dulwich College.. Studied Art at Lambeth and at S. Kensington Academies where in 1876, he won the Queen`s Prize for Perspective. He specialised in landscape painting in watercolour and exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. In 1919 he came to live in Gloucester Road, Bristol, and was elected an Artist Member, at the age of 58. In 1924 he contributed to “Grouse” an article on the charms of English rural architecture. Died June 1935, aged 74 at Thornbury.
