Bill Phillips. RIBA

Born 1939, brought up in rural Hampshire. Educated at Royal Merchant Navy School, Berkshire. Studied architecture at Portsmouth and Oxford, qualifying in 1965. Spent a few years in local government (Hampshire County and Liverpool City), before switching to private sector, including two years each in Bermuda, Gulf States and Egypt. Settled in the West Country in 1972, running his own practice in Bristol from 1982 until retirement in 2006. Became a “Green Feather” (non artist) member of Bristol Savages in 1996. . In 2005 was elected as a Red Feather (artist) member, since when sketching and painting in watercolour en plein air has become an increasingly important part of life.  Apart from the Bristol Savages Annual Exhibitions, has exhibited on the Severn Vale Arts Trail and at The Toll House Gallery, Clevedon.
