BANKS, Harry, RWA. * PDF Print E-mail

Came from London, where he was quite well known as an artist and in 1902 his design was chosen for the invitation dinner cards for the Coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. This was a very colourful and elaborate design and the Tribe possesses a copy of it, together with an explanation of the symbolism, which was issued by HM Stationary Office (Savages' Scrap Book 2, p 106). He was an associate member of the RWA. Spent a great deal of his time in Europe. Died in 1946. (Cecil Broome)
