Evening Sketches

Every Wednesday night there is a different Chairman for the evening, and it is his prerogative to provide a subject, which he places on a blackboard (bought for 16s. in 1907), previously unknown to the artists, when the Red Feather artists are allowed 2 hours to produce a sketch. These are some examples of the artwork produced within the challenging 2 hour deadline.

Any intending artist member is asked to undergo this task for 6 weeks before a vote by the existing artist members. This condition was rigorously enforced by the Founder, Ernest Ehlers, and remains so to this day.
